Jeremiah Clark |
A lifetime of service is the phrase that best describes Jeremiah Clark. His commitment to education as a classroom instructor and administrator continues in the higher education scholarships awarded each year to graduating high school seniors. He served his church at all levels. At Greater Hurst Chapel AME he served as Steward, as Trustee, in the Choir, and member of countless committees, boards and organizations. He also served church State and District groups and organizations through committee and board memberships. He is remembered in the community as a champion for the less fortunate and an inspiring mentor of Sarasota students. Brother Clark was a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha and a charter member of Xi Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha. |

Elbert Weisner |
Elbert C. Wisner will be remembered as a humanitarian. His hallmarks were fellowship and service. He never forgot anyone he met and would always greet them by name and by recalling their previous encounter. He served Alpha Phi Alpha in many capacities including serving as President of the organization of New Jersey State chapters. This son of Erwood, Colorado financed his education as a saxophonist. He was the first Black graduate of the University of Delaware and was honored by his alma mater with its Metal of Distinction. He will also be remembered as a family man and for his respect, admiration and support of his wife, world renowned jazz pianist, Lillette Jenkins-Wisner. Brother Wisner will be remembered for the whimsy that complemented his humanitarian nature: Elbert drove an Excalibur. |
